Shift your body from a stressed state to a creative, flowy one
Any time you feel heavy...or are rushing from meeting to meeting...or your brain keeps going to the worst case about the presentation...or you have a quick scroll instead of doing the planning for that project - the underlying reason is the same:
Your body is in a stress response (fight / flight / freeze / fawn).
Which means your rational brain, the pre-frontal cortex, is offline.
In this state you'll only be able to see the problem and any decisions will be emotional, reactive and short-term focused.
And with your rational brain offline, you can't tap into your usual creative buzzy ideas to come up with solutions.
Here's what to do instead...
To shift to a more calm, flowy and creative state
Simply pause and process through whatever emotion you're feeling.
This lets your body know that right now you're safe.
And so it switches back to a regulated, rest-and-digest state.
Which is when you feel lighter and more at ease.
The ideas and creativity and possibility kicks back in and suddenly you're back in a flowy place again.
Learning to process emotions has had the single biggest positive impact on my life as an ADHD-er (especially as someone who feels intensely and deeply).
And yet most of us don't get taught how to do this.

HI, I'M HAZEL.
Lover of nature, mountains and exploring winding trails.
Mum to Flynn (who's teaching me A LOT about life, being present, playing and truly living), wife to Luke and dog mama to my adventure dog Maple.
Oh and I'm also an ADHD-er - diagnosed in my late 30's and it made sooo many things make sense!
So now I live and work in a way that aligns with my unique, creative, buzzy brain and help my amazing clients do the same.
For me this looks like: plenty of time in nature, slowing down and being present, walking barefoot in my garden, dropping all the *shoulds*, only working on projects that truly light me up and spending loads of time dreaming and resting.
I'm sooo passionate about creating big scary goals - doing things that make us feel alive AND make the impact we know we want to in the world.
To use our precious time for the benefit of the planet and humans on it and to truly LIVE!
