Hi and welcome to the Scary Goals Club podcast. I am your host Hazel Robertson. I am in a mood. I just feel like singing today. I have had [00:01:00] just the best day. I am having like the best time at the moment. Not all the time, of course. Sometimes things feel really hard, but this week and just over the last few months, but really this week, like.
I'm really leaning into, there's something I talked about in the podcast last week, which was intuitive planning. And what I want to talk about today is like how to build, like doing intuitive planning, but like building in more like adventure and joy and things that actually light you up, like bringing more of that into your day and how that just will completely change your whole day, your whole week, just how you are experiencing life.
And so I had noticed, I was like, I think sometimes with kids you can, like, maybe you don't have kids, maybe you do have kids, but like, and if you don't have kids this will resonate anyway in terms of when you can be like an adult and you have like a routine and there's certain things you'd like go through and it's like not like [00:02:00] doing the same thing all the time because things do change but there's like a certain amount of like okay this is how the week goes and I think kids like really like structure and a bit of routine and they know what to expect but Also, I have been so, like, just so missing adventure and really that was, like, coming up and I've been tuning in intuitively and, like, planning in a way that, like, feels really intuitive for me of, like, what is it I actually need?
I'm building that into my day, into my weeks, even my days when I'm with Flynn, and it was, like, okay, adventure is, is something that I want to build in more of, and, like, Monday we had just the most fun day. Like, we didn't go to the playgroup we would normally go to. We, I asked, I actually just asked Flynn at breakfast, I was like, what do you want to do today?
And he was like, go for a walk in the woods. And I was like, woods and a hill. But it was super windy, so I was like, maybe up a hill's not so good, but let's like, go somewhere where there's the woods. And went somewhere that I'd wanted to go, that I'd never been to. There was like, this cool cairn. We just like, wandered in the [00:03:00] woods.
And then I put him in the backpack when he got tired. And he was like, wanting out, and I was just about to put him down. to get him out and then he was like completely asleep so then I just like sat in the woods with him like asleep in the backpack like no one else around it was super windy so the trees were like moving and just like sat and meditated and visualized and just was super present with the moment and then we went and we had like a bowl of soup like for lunch at this cute little farm shop and then there was this like amazing Swing, they had like a it's not like a tire swing, but it's like a round swing that you can both kind of we both lay on it and We were like swinging so high and then just like lying back and like watching the clouds and the trees were moving in the wind I'm like getting like funny tummies and laughing and just Just had such a fun day.
And it was like I was so present and We were just lit, like, I was asking Flynn what he wanted, like, listening to his intuition, I was listening to my intuition of like, ooh, [00:04:00] what do we want to do now, and like, what do we feel like now, and really checking in with it. And the day was, it was so different than I had imagined in the morning, because the day before he'd been like, I want to go to the playgroup, and then in the morning he was like, no, I actually want to go for a walk in the woods.
And it was just listening to that, and normally, sometimes, like, I can get quite I don't know if it's like an ADHD thing or like if I have a plan or I'm like this is what's happening, I can get really like fixated on that sometimes and this may resonate for you as well. It's like you have something that you plan to do and then changing it or if the timing changes or something changes, I can feel a bit like, uh, okay, what now?
And I'm almost having to like readjust stuff. I think also as a parent or if you are responsible for a dependent or a team or anything you're having to rejig, okay, like, certainly as a parent, it's like, okay, well, now this needs to happen then, and this is nap, and this is, okay, so we're eating then, and it's almost like, the mental, also with ADHD, something that I struggle with often is like, having all the things, and [00:05:00] like, they all need done, and it's like, putting them in, like, what is actually the order, and what's going to work best, and like, just with the intuitive planning, it's just felt so much easier, because it's almost like, I've not had to be really thinking about, like, all of the steps right now.
It's really kept me present in, like, okay, what is the next thing? Or, like, what feels right for right now? That has been, it's just been so fun. And then on Wednesday, also building in, in, like, with my intuition, Flynn wanted to go to the playgroup on Wednesday. And I was, like, okay, I really want adventure for getting there.
And, like, Luke had the car and it was, like, okay, I'm gonna cycle. And. I hadn't laid out some of this stuff the night before, but it was more in the morning. I was like, okay, I'm gonna actually cycle, got my bike out, put Flynn on the back, had a rough idea, like, how to OS Maps it out, and was like, okay, it's roughly this way, like, through the woods, and it was just, it was so fun, like, there were trails, and, like, connecting them to roads, and, like, figuring out the path, and then there was, like, trees down across the trails, like, go back and around, and, like, find a [00:06:00] dog walker, and ask a dog walker, and just stuff that if I had I've done the usual of like, gone in the car, or like, pushed in the buggy, or, you know, done something that maybe I would have usually done.
It just would have felt so different, and it just felt so fun and adventurous, and just like, such an amazing day. And also, like, I was listening to, like, on Tuesday when I was working, I, like, things just felt really heavy. I, like, could not. I had to, like, motivate myself to do anything, I hadn't, like, my sleep had been a bit broken, it was a bit warm, and I was just like, ugh.
And instead of, like, forcing it, I was like, okay, what is it, like, I'm clearly not going to be able to actually create and, like, really get into the thing that I wanted to get done. It was like, okay. And so I cleaned the office. And like, I think what I've been trying to do, I'm not always good at catching it, but like.
What I've been trying to do is if I find that I'm avoiding something and I'm wanting to procrastinate and do [00:07:00] something else, sometimes my default can be like to scroll and what I'm trying to do is like, okay, if I definitely don't want to do the thing, I'm going to switch the scrolling to something that's at least a little bit more like makes me feel good, feels better, like another hit of dopamine in a different way that I'm still going to have some nice outcome at the end.
So it's like, okay, I'm going to like have a shower, clean the office and it felt so good. Like taking everything out. Hoovering, dusting, cleaning, like, taking everything out and then only putting back in. It's kind of like our minds when we're like, understanding what's going on in our subconscious mind.
We're like, take it all out, see what's in there, decide what we're putting back in. Like, only the stuff that's serving us, only the stuff that's useful. I'm just letting go of the rest. And it was the same with the office. It was like, okay, this stuff's all gonna go. Like, recycled loads of old paper that I'd been holding on to.
It was like, just filed loads of stuff and it's just Like, cause I was just one, like, I think on Tuesday I was like in here and I was like oh there's a pile of things there that I have to sort and like there and there and it, it just, [00:08:00] it has completely shifted my energy as well of being in this room and so like today I'm like ooooh I'm excited to be in here and like working away and so that felt amazing just like truly just trusting and listening to myself and then on Wednesday when I was with Flynn again like in the afternoon we went for this awesome walk and I was like, I just put him in the buggy and I was like do I have him for a nap at home and then I was like It's such a nice day, and I was like, I'm gonna take him out, I'm gonna go out for a walk.
So I got him in the buggy, and was again just like, being really present when I was walking. He was asleep, and I noticed like, on the trail I was on, I noticed this like, other trail just off, it like, caught my eye. And I, like, again, because I've been tuning into my intuition more, I was like, ooooh. And I was like, I'm just gonna follow that and just see where it goes.
And so I followed it along and I was like, oh this is perfect. And I just stopped, like, put the buggy there. And I was like, I'm just gonna film a bunch of videos, like, talking about some stuff that I'd wanted to do on Tuesday. And I just, like, was just not in [00:09:00] the right headspace. I was just like, ugh. Lots of, like, processing feelings.
Lots of, like, having a good cry and just, like, feeling a bit tired. And because I had given myself that space, had an early night on Tuesday, and just rested and actually listened to my body, I had literally so much energy on Wednesday because I'd had, like, such an amazing morning and this, like, adventure on the bike.
I was just, like, and I f I don't know how many videos I must have filmed. Ten? Maybe more than ten in, like, twenty minutes. And I was like, okay, cool, that's g that's good. And it's just And even today, so there's more examples of just how fun it has been this week, like really just trusting myself, really just leaning into that, even if it's so different than I had originally planned or thought the day would go, even today it was like, I know that getting out for like an hour and a half, two hour walk in the morning just really, really helps shift my energy level, even though sometimes I'm like, but I'm starting work at 11 and that can feel a bit like, ugh, it's like, no that, The work I then do is [00:10:00] just so much more effective, so much easier, and it's just like, no, that is okay.
So I went out for a walk this morning and I was checking with my intuition. It was like, it kept, I was like, what do I, and it kept saying like a tea, like a cafe basically. And I was like, ha, okay. And there's a cafe like near where I was walking. And then I like went up to the doors of the cafe and I was like I'm just checking because this is going to mean that I'm like starting at 12 now if I'm here for like an hour.
And so it was like, I was checking in with it and it was like, yeah, it was like, yes, go inside. And so I went inside, had the most amazing fruit scone, oh my gosh, it was insane. I was obviously hungry, I like literally inhaled it in like two minutes, I was not very mindful, and then had this like lovely pot of tea.
And I just, and then as soon as I got in I was like, oh. So, uh, this is this thing that I was going to do like, you know, later this afternoon. I was like, I'm just going to do it now. And it was like being able to know what I wanted to do and create for the day and like [00:11:00] what were the different elements of it.
And then it was like, this one is happening right now and let's just do it. And I literally like sat and hyper focused for like an hour, like on my phone. I was chatting, there was like people I knew, I was chatting to them, like Maple was there hanging out, chatting to some people. So I got a bit of the like, the chat and like chatting to people.
And then I just focused, and like, had this lovely cup of tea, had like, tunes on, got like, all of this stuff sorted, and I was like, that's amazing, that has been like, such an amazing hour, and then I could feel my like, energy was dipping a bit, my focus was dipping, and I was like, it's time to go, and it's time to go back home, and then get on with the like, the next part of my day that I like, already planned in, like, get ready for my calls.
And so, it's just been amazing. And, and it's like just listening to these little nudges, I was like, I don't know why cafe keeps coming up, but like, okay, I'm just going to trust it. And there we go. And there was just so many, and even there's just been so many [00:12:00] fun bits like that. So I just want to say, like, if you haven't listened to the intuitive planning episode, like go back and listen to it and just try it out, like start planning in that way.
It literally. It seems so different. It's just so fun. Like, I think also because my brain is quite creative and like, loves trying things in a different way and it's like, it is just fun and it feels so playful and flowy and it's like honestly like, nine months ago a year ago, not quite a year ago I was like, hating my business actually even like six months ago I was like I hate the business, I feel trapped I'm this, and it's because I was like forcing myself into this schedule I was like, this is how I should be working, and this is what I should be doing, and blah, blah, blah, blah, and like, not having these moments to just step away and actually listen and be like, what is it I really feel like I feel called to do right now?
What is it, like, and letting that part of me just play and like, [00:13:00] just see where it goes. And like, honestly, I feel like a kid again. It's the craziest thing. I think Flynn's also been teaching me about so much of this because he is just, kids are just so intuitive. Like, we are intuitive and then we get taught, like, and conditioned to, the teacher has the answer and authority figures are right and to, like, listen to others even when in our body it doesn't feel right.
And sometimes, you know, it's like, if you think about you, if you use your intuition or you don't, you maybe think of it as, like, big things. So, it's like, oh, you get this, like, hmm, something's not right, like, on the bigger stuff. Like, that we can often lean into. But there are so many examples through. My teens, my 20s, my 30s even.
It's like, where I knew something didn't feel right but I literally ignored it. It was like, until my body was screaming and I was burned out and it was like, YOU NEED TO REST SOMETHING THAT IS NOT RIGHT! And it's like, that's the bigger stuff. But it's like, literally on the day to day stuff as well.
Like, actually just listening to this, it's like subtle shifts. It's really fun. I was taking a client through the exercise of [00:14:00] it today. of like intuitive planning and it's like an exercise for like priming your intuition and like starting to understand it and like feel like, like understand how it feels in different moments and then be able to like practice asking it questions and practice trusting it and like it's just so fun and it's so subtle at first.
It's like, you're like, huh, is that it? But it's like, it's definitely there. And you notice these like subtle changes in like energy and tension and openness. And then it's like, you just start leaning into that a little bit more, leaning into it a bit more. And when you create the space, when you step away, when you're outside for a walk, not with headphones in or anything, and you're at, or you close your eyes and you're actually just listening, that's when it is like, that's when it's louder.
And that's when you can cut through the noise that's in your head. And that's all around that people are telling you to do. And I'd actually be like, what is right for me? And it's just, it is so, it is literally so fun. So anyway, if you haven't listened to that episode, go and just like listen and start [00:15:00] playing with it.
It's so, so fun. And today I just wanted to talk about like when you do start listening to your intuition, like how to build in more fun and more adventure and more just like. Like those moments of joy through, like throughout your day and in your life. And the reason that you might want to do this is, and I used to be focused on this as well of like, okay, get these things done and like ticking off your to do list and like go, go, go, go, go.
And it's very much focus. Again, it's like if you think of production lines and capitalism and like factories, it's like produce, produce, workers, produce, get things done, get things done. And especially it's like, And it's like, with ADHD we can often tie our worth to our productivity and it's like if I am producing then I am like good and worthy and if I'm not then I'm bad and it's like a lot of people can do this but I think especially with ADHD because it's like oftentimes we can struggle to do something if we're not really [00:16:00] into it because we've got interest led brains or we can struggle to like get things done so therefore it's like that becomes and we get told off for it and people say things about us and it's like We internalize that and therefore we add, add this like, bond, this like, extra stickiness between what we are actually doing and producing and like, our worthiness as a person.
Which is completely a lie because you are 100 percent worthy as you are, if you don't believe it. Come work with me, and you will start to believe it, but like, that is the work, is understanding that like, just by being you, and like, you are enough as you are, and then anything you do is like a bonus and is super fun.
That is the work. But anyway. So, where am I going with this? Oh yeah! So often times it's like we can be focused on doing, doing, doing, taking things off our to do list, and then it's like, we get to the end of the week and we save our like, joy for the weekends, or we save our fun, or we're like exhausted and we're recovering at the weekends, or we save our joy for like, the evenings or when we've got something done. [00:17:00] What if the who purpose of time management, and understanding and like being like intentional with your time and with your life and like setting goals and everything is to Create a life that just feels amazing.
Not that it's like, delaying that until some point in the future, but actually creating a life like right now, that in these moments throughout the day, sprinkled throughout the day, are the moments of joy, are the moments of like, fun and connection and everything like that. And just, the more that you can build those into your day, the more energized that you will feel.
And one of the things that you can start to think about, or just to tune in and to notice, is like, What are things that are, like, what are some of the things that energise you, that really like, light you up and bring you joy and like, boost your energy, and then what are some of the things that drain you?
And even just noting them down, like, you could do it now, or like, just [00:18:00] tuning in as you go about your day.even as you go about your day at the weekend, but as you go about your working day, and just tuning in, okay.
Where am I noticing my energy's dipping? Where does it feel like it's quite like, high and flowy? And, and just thinking like, okay, what are some of those moments? And building in those little, like, micro, I think of them as like little sprinkles of joy. It's like, you can sprinkle the joy just throughout the day, and the adventure, and like, little moments of it.
For me, the other piece is like, novelty. Like, doing something a bit different, going on a different trail, going to a new cafe, going to a new place. It's like, anything like that that's like a little bit different, like for me that boosts my energy and so I can notice and I've just again because I've been doing the intuitive planning a lot more of the last few months it's like I can notice when things are starting to feel forced or my energy is beginning to dip and I'm like okay this is a sign I'm like kind of stepping out of like my creative flow where it feels [00:19:00] really easy and I'm It's just a bit like, things feel a little bit forced, or I'm trying to like, get one more thing done, or just like, get this thing done.
And I can tell when I'm in that energy, it's the like, forcing, like, ugh, capitalism energy of just ticking something off, not actually living and being human and being like, present and just experiencing life in the most amazing, rich way. It's like, ugh, it's more about like, the result that I'm trying to get to, because then I'll feel better, rather than like, no, we get to feel amazing now.
And so. So, um, what I've been able to do, and what you can totally do too, just once you start tuning in to like, how your energy is being during the day, like, notice when it starts to dip and then just, like, even you can have a list, of like, things that just, like a sprinkle of joy, things that bring you joy, things that like, lift your mood, lift your energy, it could be anything.
And have it somewhere so you know that when things start to dip or you're like wanting to reach for your phone or you're just like having another coffee and [00:20:00] something sugary and you're like, okay, I just need to get this done. That is a sign to be like, that's not a fun energy to be in. Like, sure you'll get the thing done, but imagine if you took a minute, did something super fun and interesting, and then came back.
You would be in such a different place than the like, I have to just get this done. And like, you're in control of that. You can completely shift. you're doing the thing and it's not just who you are being while you're getting the thing done, like the energy that you're putting into the thing that you want to actually create.
So it's not just like, get the thing done, it's like actually just enjoy the whole process of it because like honestly the more, like, I don't know, just the more fun and the more I like allow myself these moments of. playfulness and connection and stepping away or stepping outside or dancing like loving just like putting tunes on and dancing that was something that came up with me for today when I was checking in with my intuitive planning it was like what do I need today and it was like dance and I've danced literally so much today it's been so fun and yet I was [00:21:00] in I had so much anxiety this morning like it's not like I've been in this flowy mood all day I was like well I was really just like I felt like I was like, frustrated, anxiety, felt this like knot in my stomach and I could not shake it.
And I couldn't shake it until, like, really the last bit of the walk. Even though I was doing lots of breathing, all I wanted to do was just like listen to a podcast and escape. I kept walking and I did a meditation and a visualisation but I could still feel it there like it wasn't going. And then, I just like, I was like, okay, I'm just going to go in and like, go in and have this cup of tea and this scone.
And as I was like walking there and like really being present with the sun and just like noticing the frost on the grass and just being really, really, really present and being like, how amazing. Everything right now, I noticed my brain was going to like, there's this thing I have to do today or there's this thing that isn't done.
So it was almost like, oh, I need to get things done. That's where my brain was. That's why I had that knot in my stomach. And then as soon as I was like, no, everything is amazing right [00:22:00] now and just let myself off. be present with how amazing everything was. It like, literally lifted. And then I went into the cafe and I like, had this like, crazy power hour of just like, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, just with my phone.
Just like, tsh, get loads of things done that I wanted to get done. But not from a place of like, I have to get this done. Which I knew that if I had just gone back and been at my desk and been doing the same things, like it was like, I either do it on my phone, which I could do luckily, or at my desk. I was like, I know it's gonna be like, easier and more fun if I'm out and about and like, having a nice scone, and it's just so lovely than like, at my desk, where I would have been like, ugh, get this done, get this done.
So, it's the same thing, like, how can you just bring in those like, little moments of joy, and like, that, and just like, mixing up the day, changing things a little bit, that is gonna like, lift your energy, boost your energy, and just like, carry with you for the rest of the day. Literally the rest of the day since that, I [00:23:00] mean it was still nice being out on the walk, but I still couldn't quite shift this, I wasn't fully present.
And then, I was just grinding myself with where I was in that moment, how amazing everything was, because it literally, like, the puddles were all frozen, I was like cracking them, and it was like the frost was all sparkling, it was on like the long grass, and maple was running around, and it was just I was like, it literally doesn't get better than this, so stop thinking about the time when you're gonna get everything done, because It's not gonna be better then.
It's like, these are the moments, this is the time and when I can connect with that. And then just like bring in a bit of the flow. It's just, it's just been so fun. And so I just want to offer that that is possible for you as well. It's just about actually giving yourself permission and, and like that you can let go of the like, I have to get this done mentality and knowing that when you sprinkle in 30 seconds, a minute, five minutes, half an hour of Things that are going to lift your energy, boost your mood, energize you, make you feel like flowy throughout the day.[00:24:00]
It's going to be so much easier when you are actually focused, because you're going to be more present, you're going to have like more creative energy. Because when we're in a like, have to get more thing, one thing done, yeah you might be focused, but like your focus is quite narrow and it's like you're maybe not coming up with the creative ways of doing things, or like it maybe just doesn't feel as easy, it feels a bit more forced.
That is a sign that you want to shift things. So. Just thinking about, again, tuning in, like, over the next week, or, or in beyond, but like watching your energy, like thinking about it like this, and then every time it starts to kind of dip down, it's like, huh, checking in, what's going on, what is it I need right now, even for like a minute, just like bringing that back up, and then, and then it's like down, so it's almost like noticing it, whereas before, it'd be like, it would probably be down, I'd be forcing, push, push, push, and then I'd get burned out, and I'd be like, oh, like it was literally my body's like, You have to stop now.
We are done. And I'd get depressed or just have this like super low mood. Whereas now, [00:25:00] I can feel it dip and then I'm like, what is it I need now? And like, give that to myself in that moment. And just be willing to like, flex on my day and just, just like make it flow a little bit more. I know I'm using the word flow a lot, but that feels like the word to describe it the most.
So just, yeah, even asking yourself the question like, how can I bring more, like So fun into your day, how can you make your day more fun, or anything that you're doing, how can you make it more fun? And I'll give you some examples of things that I use to make it more fun. So, the first thing is just like, getting out in nature, going for a walk.
So if there's any time I'm like, planning something, or you know, I'm thinking about like, podcast episodes, or I'm thinking about something, like for the day, or like imagining something or visualising, like, I find it really helpful to be out for a walk. The ideas just come, and it's like, I get to be outside doing this
thinking and also I get to be doing the work. It's like, it doesn't have to be behind the screen. Like that's been, that was one of the first things I started to like let go of when I started shifting [00:26:00] how I was working was like, Oh, all of this stuff I'd be like, I have to plan and with a Google doc, it's like, no, I can be out on a walk, dictate you into my phone, like thinking about it in that way.
And then I can like tidy it up later. So walking really helps me and I'm just like going on like cool trails and like meandering. The other one is music, so having music on, and then also with that is like dancing, dancing in a different way, just like bringing in a bit of dance and movement, even for like 30 seconds, completely shifts my mood, and then I'm like, okay, I feel amazing now.
connecting, like being with people, connecting with people. And having other people there as well. So for example, today when I was like, I just noticed this like need, I guess it was, I was listening to, which was, I want to be surrounded by people and like have amazing food, amazing scone and amazing cup of tea, like brought to me and I get to pay that, pay for that and like have this like lovely experience.
And so like being in a coffee shop, if there's certain things that, you know, like for example, if I don't have a [00:27:00] client call or if I don't have like a podcast episode to record. I can do that anywhere, and it's like, ooh, where would be really fun, or sometimes I'll find like a nice hotel, and like work there, and just, just being willing to mix it up a bit.
I think the other thing for me is adventure, like building an adventure, whether that's like, going, and I guess with that is like novelty, like, the adventure piece is like, generally outdoors, generally doing something a bit different, trying something new, the same kind of with the novelty, it's like going on a slightly different trail, where you, And, and really the whole thing with the intuitive planning, it feels a bit more like novelty because it's like, you don't, I don't ultimately know how I'm going to do the thing, like I know what the outcome is, the outcome, usually, like I get there, like whatever I, I'm like this is important, like I get it created, like I make, I make it happen as it were, but like the actual steps to it I don't really know and there's something just so freeing in that of being like.
I don't need to know it all. I don't need to, like, have everything exactly worked out. I can, I can actually listen to what I [00:28:00] need in this moment and, like, trust that and follow that. And know that that's gonna lead me almost in the most direct way to creating the thing, even if it's a bit wigglier.
Because generally when I'm having fun, when I'm actually enjoying myself, it just takes so much less time and it's just so much more fun. And also the thing I notice is, like, at the end of my days, like, whether it's with Flynn or whether it's my working days, When I'm reflecting over the day and like thinking back, like in bed and just like going through the day.
The bits I remember the most that, like, shine in my memory, the bits that, like, feel sparkliest, that I'm like, oh, such a good day, they were not the bits that I was, like, like, behind a computer. They were the bits where I did something different, went outside, went in nature, chatted to someone, like, mixed things up in a different way.
Like, those are the bits I'm like, oh.
And the other thing that I've found is that, like, literally they make the weeks feel so long but in the best way. Sometimes I think when you can get into the routine of things and everything becomes a bit like the same, it's [00:29:00] like, whoa, the weeks just fly past because it's like, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, a little bit like that.
Whereas actually , having this novelty, having different things, having the day like sprinkled with these sprinkles of joy, sprinkles of like fun and aliveness that like just make you feel like a human and realize that we're connected with something bigger. Like I thought today was Friday for like half the day today.
I was like, I had in the afternoon and I dunno why. I just like had thought it was Friday and I was like, okay, cool. Right. I need to think about Saturday and dah dah. And I was like, wait, I have a whole day tomorrow. And I think it's because like. The week has just felt long, but in the best way. I'm like, whoa, I have, it's almost like I have lived so many lives this week.
I've done so many things this week that are new and different and interesting. And like, I didn't imagine at the start of the week that now, I'm like, it surely it must be Friday because so many amazing, wonderful things have happened and it's only Thursday and it just feels like such a joy to be [00:30:00] like, wow, I have a whole day tomorrow of like.
Who knows what's going to happen, who knows where my intuition is going to take me and like what experiences I'm going to have. Like, I don't know that right now and it literally feels, it's so fun. It is, like, just the most fun. I am having so much fun at the moment, I don't know if you can tell, I feel like this so many times a day.
I've just like, literally burst, like, been bursting out laughing, like, grinning to myself. I'm just like, this is so fun. It's, yes, it's hard, like, sometimes, you know, this morning, like, I still felt anxiety and I still felt really, like, heaviness. But the thing is, I know how to shift that and how to, like, be there for myself, even when I am feeling that way and not shame myself and beat myself up and be like, there's something gone wrong.
It's like, okay, this is what it is, what do I need? And actually, like, figuring that out and, ugh, anyway, so there are my different ways for sprinkling, like, fun and joy throughout your day and just, yeah, noticing your energy levels, thinking of, like, making your own, like, fun, [00:31:00] joy, energising list. And just how can you add in different bits, like, when you feel you might need them to give yourself a little boost.
Even you could, like, rank the list by, okay, these ones take 30 seconds. Or, like, you could put on a song for 30 seconds or a minute, that's gonna do something. Versus, like, maybe a walk would be, you could do a 15 minute walk, or maybe you could do, like, an hour walk, like, and have different routes. You could almost have, like, a different list based on different amounts of time.
And it's like, okay, how much time do I want to give to this? How much time do I have? And then Just have it on hand, and like, as you feel your energy dipping, or you feel you, like, check in with your body and what you need, like, add in some of these bits, sprinkle them in throughout your day. Oh, another one I just remembered is doing something kind for someone else.
Like, when you can give something, or like, help someone else, or like, you know, even today when I was having the scone, it was like, I love leaving, like, a really good tip. And I was like, oh, thank you! And it's, it's just Like, it's not a big thing, but it feels amazing, and it's like, there's so much research on like [00:32:00] how actually giving, helping someone else, without like expecting anything back just genuinely because you want to give, whether it's like a compliment, or like tipping someone, or helping someone out, like anything like that, it just feels amazing.
So that's another thing that can be really, if you're in a bit of a like, ugh, how can you like give something, or like, say something really kind to someone, that you genuinely mean. And just. That will also shift your energy and like give you a mood boost as well, like it just, or leaving a review, that's another one I love doing.
If there's like small businesses, I'm like, I never, I used to be like, who leaves Google reviews? This was a few years ago, it was like, I mean great that people do, but like who honestly does that? Whereas now I'm like, this small business is so amazing, I love, like I really want to leave it a review or like podcast as well.
Now I'm like, if something's been amazing, I'm like, I want to tell other people about it and it just, it makes me feel good as well. And it helps them as well, so that's another fun one that you can sprinkle in. So yeah, let me know how you get on with all those and just, it's all about just like breaking the rules for how you quote unquote should work [00:33:00] and like being playful with it and yeah just making your, it's like not thinking about like work and then life, it's like this is your life, like how do you want to make it the most magical, fun, interesting life and like that aligns with your values so like what's valuable to you, what matters most to you and like building in more of that
And if you want to, like, take all of this, but, like, understand it on such a deeper level, understand your own brain, what are the thoughts, like, holding you back, what is getting in the way, and actually release those and step into a new identity, and, like, up level yourself, and how you're being, and just work and live in a different way, where you just feel like you are totally tapped into, like, who you are, and just work in a way that, like, lights you up.
