Pushing past perfectionism

If you're someone who cares about making a positive impact in the world, you probably know a thing or two about perfectionism.

Perfectionism can be defined as striving for flawlessness.

And it might seem helpful - attention to detail, high standards, pursuit of excellence.

But perfectionism is holding you back.

I know because this used to be me. And I see it in so many clients who want to make their own positive impact in the world.

In the video below, I'll help you overcome it.

Perfectionism can show up in a few different ways:

  • Maybe it’s waiting until the perfect time to start writing that proposal (once your desk is tidied, today’s emails are replied to, when you’ve had lunch and have a fresh cup of coffee in hand - then you can start).
  • It could be working up until the final moments of a deadline - poring over the “right” words for the conclusions and recommendations section.
  • Saying no to speaking at a conference, for fear of making a mistake.
  • Or putting off making a decision of whether to work with that client or not - in case you make the wrong one.

All of which wastes time and leads to late night working, more rushing and unnecessary last minute stress.

If these things sound familiar, just know nothing’s wrong.

Simply being aware of how perfectionism is holding you back, you're taking the first step to change. To making more impact.

And once you shift the way perfectionism is showing up in your life, you’ll feel lighter about the work you do. Because you’ll no longer be afraid of mistakes or getting things wrong.

And you’ll save so much time - making decisions quickly, getting things done ahead of time without rushing.

I'll help you do this in the webinar replay below.

In it, you'll learn:

  1. Why we're perfectionists
  2. Seven simple, practical tips for how to push past perfectionism for healthy growth (such as smart tasks, purpose, 80/20, clear why, step back, B- work, review for impact)

These are just some of the tools I use on myself and that we use with our clients to help them overcome perfectionism and save so much time.

Enjoy!
