This is how to be organised

There’s no such thing as a naturally disorganised person.

(Have you been thinking you are?)

Maybe you do when you see those 3 half-finished projects on your to-do list (the ones that felt really exciting to start but that you're now dreading).

Or when you’re deciding - again - which doubled-booked meeting you should go to this afternoon.

Or maybe when you’re working over a sunny summer weekend, rushing to finish the client proposal, and missing most of your friend's birthday BBQ.

And if this sounds like you, I’ll bet you’re using these as evidence that you’ll always be disorganised. That it's just the way you are.

But there’s no such thing as a naturally disorganised person.

You just haven’t been taught two things:

1) how your mind works; and

2) how to plan effectively

Because our brains don’t come with an instruction manual. And they have lots of evolutionary quirks that don’t always fit with our modern lifestyles.

For example - we're hardwired to reward novelty.

With entrepreneurs this can show up as “shiny object syndrome” - where thinking about a new project feels a lot more exciting than finishing what’s already been started.

It’s not that you’re disorganised, it’s that your brain is WIRED to want to start new things.

Good to know, right?

So you can stop being mean to yourself for those half-finished projects.

We’re also not taught in school how to plan, let alone how to plan effectively in a way that works with your brain.

Maybe you’ve picked up various hacks and tips from self-help books or podcasts - 25 ways to organise your to-do list, 3 steps to block time in your calendar.

But I bet these are things you try for a few weeks before reverting back to how you’ve always done things: looking at your to-do list and deciding what to do next (maybe after just one more cup of coffee - then you'll start).

Which totally makes sense - because you’ve never been taught a complete, simple, and tactical process for planning that works with your brain, not against it.

Or a neuroscience-backed mind tool to use your mind so the planning and the 'doing' becomes easy and fun - and just how you do things now.

Which is why you start and stop tasks, trying to shuffle them along all at once.

Or put that proposal off until the last minute, waking up at 5am after a crap night's sleep to get it done before the deadline.

Or never seem to get round to the important projects, instead only just about keeping your head above water with the urgent ones.

None of this means you’re a disorganised person.

It just means you don't have the tools you need to become organised.

So you can stop being mean to yourself for doing all of this, too.

Being organised is simply a skill you can learn.

And just like any skill, it takes practice.

That’s all.

To be organised, you only need two things:

  1. A process for planning that works with your brain
  2. A tool to understand how your mind work

That’s it.

And alongside coaching, this is what we'll teach you,

  1. A simple planning process (PPER - prioritise, plan, execute, review) that's designed to make it as easy for your brain as possible. With this process you'll organise your time, stop putting things off, get what you want done on time without rushing, and build trust with yourself that you’ll do whatever you've said you’ll do.
  2. A neuroscience-based tool (CTFAR - circumstance, thought, feeling, action, result) that helps you understand how your mind works. So you'll always know exactly why you’re leaving things to the last minute, not sticking to what you’d planned or triple-booking yourself. Once you know this, then it's so easy to do things differently.

Because you’re essentially rewiring your brain using these simple tools, the changes you see are both quick and long-lasting.

And our clients who think they’ll never be organised realise that they 100% are.

They get presentations and reports done ahead of time, without rushing.

They finish what they start and stop skipping yoga to work late.

They feel calm in each moment knowing exactly what they’re focusing on without a million things whirring in their heads.

And their teams benefit, too.

Because when our clients see the power of these tools, they know they can shift the entire work environment and culture they set up for their team.

Because leadership and positive, impactful change comes from the top.

And if you're modelling calm, organised leadership, where nothing is last minute or rushed and all decisions are made ahead of time, your team will reflect this.

So as an organisation you'll make better decisions. You'll be more prepared for client meetings, make less mistakes and your team will have more capacity, be energised and focused - not panicked and rushed - and create better results.

And it all starts with deciding you want to be organised
