The BEST Feeling

On November 17th we met our newest (and cutest!) team member, baby Flynn Robertson.

And we’ve had the most special few months in our own bubble getting to know him.

 

We’ve been spending hours each day just looking at him. 

Noticing what he’s focusing on, watching different expressions flicker over his face as he sleeps.

Reading to him, making up nursery rhymes, replying back with ga-ga noises.

 

Completely immersed in new parenthood.

The easy bits and the not-so-easy bits.

The cosy snuggles. His little noises.

Being covered in pee, poo and milk.

Mastering eating dinner one-handed.

The 2am feeds. 

 

And we’ve been fully present for all of it.

Which isn’t a fluke.

 

We’ve purposely set our parental leave up like this.

Planning meticulously in advance. Simplifying our days. Setting boundaries. Saying no.

So that during these fleeting and finite moments, we’re not distracted with to-dos, “have tos” or "shoulds." 

We know that things are taken care of. 

Because we’ve already taken care of them.

 

Nothing feels rushed or stressful. 

Our days are chilled (yes, even with a 4 week old!) 

So we’re just hanging out with this tiny human - and each other - soaking it all up.

 

Knowing that everything is taken care of - because you’ve already taken care of it - is the best feeling.

It means you can be with family and friends without to-do lists running through your head. 

Instead, you're fully present.

Creating memories that will stay with you for decades.

Not distracted from your life by things you'll have forgotten in a few weeks.

 

This is what we’ve created for our parental leave - and is what we teach our clients.

And it’s the best gift you can give yourself - being present with your life. 

Right here, right now. 

Not living in your head, worrying about things to do.
