Welcome to my world

Hiiiii - if you’re reading this then welcome to my world!

Where we say yes to the things that keep whispering to us, nudging us.

Yes to the scary goals (the ones that are meaningful to us and stretch us).

And where we do it in a way that feels fun and flowy.

A way that works with our creative buzzy brain.

Playful.
Messy.
Vibrant.

A way that makes us feel like ourselves.

A way that makes us feel alive.

If you want to be part of this world - I’d love to invite you to join the very first Scary Goals Lab.

Hazel Robertson
Welcome to the Lab

One scary goal. For 12 weeks.

The Scary Goals Lab is where you’ll take ONE of your ideas - and say yes to it.

And over those weeks you’ll move it from an idea in your head or heart - to something real.

Alongside other amazing purposeful humans all in the Lab together.

We’ll experiment, we’ll play, we’ll create.

By December, you’ll have created your scary goal AND have your own toolkit of how you create goals.

So next time that idea or nudge comes along, you’ll know how to create that one too.

The Details

Here’s a short summary of the practical bits you need to know

(I’m neurodivergent so I like to have everything clearly laid out up front!)

  • 12 x weekly coaching calls on Zoom - Tuesdays 22nd September - 8th December (inclusive), 12:00-1.00pm UK time
  • 15 amazing purposeful humans
  • Private Scary Goals Lab Community accessible via the Kajabi app
  • 3 x “Scary Hours” calls - weeks 3, 6, 9 - Tuesdays 6th October, 27th October, 24th November, 1:05-2:00pm UK time - where we do the things we’ve been avoiding, together
  • Founding Member Investment - ÂŁ300 total - 3 monthly payments of ÂŁ100 (half the planned price for future rounds)
Why The Scary Goals Lab is different

No perfect system to try and follow

No “five-step goal-setting process” that was built for someone else.

Simply a bunch of tools and practices for you to experiment with.

I’ll introduce the tools.

Then you play around and notice what works with your unique brain.

By December you’ll have created your scary goal AND have your own toolkit for how you create goals.

That you can use at any point.

For any future goal.

Scary Goals Lab
Here’s what it’ll look like

Every Tuesday lunchtime, we’ll come together live on Zoom

Soaking up the buzz of 15 people who all courageously said YES to that idea in their hearts.

I’ll start the call with a bit of teaching and then we’ll dive into live coaching.

You can raise your hand to get coached (camera on or off), watch as others are being coached (probably thinking wait - I do that too!) or simply ask a question in the chat to get support.

In between calls, the private community (available on the Kajabi app), is where we’ll hang out. Sharing wins and learnings, celebrating others or asking any questions. I’ll be hanging out there too giving support as you need it.

You’ll also be testing out some of the tools between calls.

Maybe you’ll play a visualisation audio as you head out for your morning run, imagining it’s December, your goal is complete and feeling the satisfaction wash over you. New ideas will pop into your mind and you’ll know exactly what to do next.

Maybe you’ll be taking courageous action, sending that email as you wait for your flat white.

Maybe you’ll be dancing to the tune that always makes you grin as you open your inbox.

Maybe you’ll get snuggled up in bed early with a fresh page in your journal, writing or drawing out the ideal scenario for how tomorrow will go.

Whether you feel like walking, talking, drawing, writing, moving, voice-noting, just getting on and doing something, this is what we’re finding out.

Experimenting with what works best for you.

You might also listen to the replay from the call - soaking in new insights and perspectives that you didn’t hear the first time round.

Scary Goals Lab
The Scary Hour

Three times over the 12 weeks together, we’re doing the scary thing together

During a group “Scary Hour”.

Weeks 3, 6, 9 - 6th October, 27th October, 24th November

After our usual coaching call, we’ll have a 5 minute break and come back on Zoom from 1.05-2pm.

Bring a cuppa, get comfy and have a few things you’ve been avoiding that you know you want to do.

  • Reaching out to an old colleague.
  • Pressing publish on the post.
  • Asking someone to read your first chapter.
  • Sending that email.
  • Asking for time off to do the adventure.
  • Submitting the proposal.
  • Sharing a picture of your art on Instagram.

During these calls you can have your camera on or off - whatever feels best.

And the scary stuff can be related to your goal or not.

The key thing is building a practice of showing your brain you can support yourself through doing scary things.

That you can have your own back, no matter the outcome.

Plus it’s fun doing it together - body doubling for the win.

Is the Lab for you?

Maybe this sounds a bit like your creative buzzy brain...

Maybe your wonderfully creative buzzy brain has lots of random phone notes full of ideas that it can feel a bit overwhelming.

Or maybe you try to do a bunch at once, don’t make much progress and then get a bit frustrated.

Maybe you shy away from setting them as the thought of then not creating the goal or “failing” feels super heavy.

Or you set a goal and then avoid doing anything around it.

Maybe the word goals even feels a bit urghhh to you.

Or maybe you love goals and have created loads, yet usually from a super stressful and high pressure place. Maybe leaving things until the last minute with a burst of adrenaline and hyperfocus to “get it done.”

If any of these resonate, the Scary Goals Lab might be your kind of place.

(and if you’re looking for a step-by-step exact system to follow where I’m going to tell you exactly what to do, this probably isn’t for you. In the Lab I’m simply your guide and coach - helping you figure out your own way of creating scary goals)

What if…?

Sometimes our brains go to all the what ifs…

Here’s a bunch with some answers that might help if yours is doing that too:

What if I don’t know my goal yet?

All good! We’ll be diving into this together in the first call.

What if I miss a call?

If you want coaching you can submit a question in advance and I’ll answer it on the call. You can then listen or watch the replay later whenever suits you.

What if I lose momentum halfway through?

This is all part of the work - bring anything like this to coaching and I’ll help you work through it.

What if I don’t want to be coached in front of everyone?

Being coached live is completely voluntary and if you volunteer, you can have your camera on or off. Or submit a question via the chat - either with your name or anonymously. Or submit a question in advance. Whatever feels comfortable!

What if I miss something and fall behind?

In the Lab you can’t fall behind. There is no behind. If life happens, motivation vanishes or plans change, we simply get curious and coach on it.

The Lab is bigger than any one goal

Yes, it's fun to create your Scary Goal

(it usually feels really freaking good)

And yet, what you’re probably going to be most proud of in December is the deep sense of self-trust you’re building.

Trust that you can listen to your heart and your body and know what’s right for you.

Trust that you can notice fear and instead of running away, move through it.

Trust that you can wobble and hesitate and still be ok.

Trust that you can create any goal...

...and do it in a way that feels like you.

A wee bit about me

If we’ve not met yet, hiiiii I’m Hazel and I’m so happy you’re here.

I love helping purposeful humans create scary goals in a way that feels good - working with their creative buzzy brains rather than trying to force themselves into someone else’s way of doing things.

I’m also an ADHD-er - diagnosed in my late 30s - and it made sooo many things make sense, including my own experiences of burnout.

Now I live and work with lots of nature, slowing down, dreaming, resting, dropping the shoulds and choosing projects that light me up and give me such a rush of energy.

The Scary Goals Lab is one of those projects - a dream, a soul whisper that’s been nudging me for years.

I feel so lucky to do what I do. To go after scary goals in my own life, get curious about what works and what doesn’t and then bring those tools, insights and learnings into my coaching to help clients create their own Scary Goals in a way that is completely unique to them.

I’ve said yes to a fair few Scary Goals of my own - from planning expeditions to Alaska and the Arctic, skiing solo across the Hardangervidda in Norway and running ultramarathons, to changing careers, building my coaching business, moving to new places, having kids and launching the Scary Goals Club podcast. And I’ve failed a LOT along the way too.

I’ve coached people to start and build a business, write a book, launch a podcast, changed careers, led teams, got a double promotion, taken a month off to be in the mountains, taken a sabbatical to travel the world - all things that started as an idea or nudge in their hearts.

Before retraining as a coach, I spent 11+ years as an advisor and senior consultant in low-carbon energy and sustainability, leading international teams, securing funding and delivering multi-million-pound projects.

And outside all of that, I’m happiest meandering through forests looking up at the trees or being in the mountains feeling small and connected to something much bigger than myself.

I’m mum to two amazing kiddos (teaching me a lot about life!), wife to Luke and dog mama to my adventure dog Maple.

And a few qualifications gathered along the way too :) Certified Coach · MSc · BSc (Hons)
